Herbs are great additives to implement in your everyday diet to balance the mind and body. Some of their great properties work to cleanse the body, as well as boost your defense against diseases and viruses.

Ayurveda is an ancient approach to a healthy lifestyle. It focuses on a strong influence of natural herbs for various preventions and benefits to balance your specific needs and overall health. Here is a list of several common (and less common) herbs and their properties that you can add to your diet and routine this winter!

Turmeric

Turmeric has amazing benefits to stimulate metabolism and improve liver function and blood circulation. It can also treat fevers, infections, and high cholesterol.

Cinnamon

Like turmeric, cinnamon also improves blood circulation. It can treat high cholesterol as well as headaches and flu symptoms.

Moringa

Moringa supports skin, hair, dye, joint, and dental health. It can also help treat stomach cramps, eczema, rheumatism, and diabetes.

Holy Basil

This herb supports the respiratory system and can enhance the immune system. Use basil to treat colds, allergies, arthritis and asthma.

Cumin

Cumin can support digestion and nutrient absorption. It’s also great for detoxification.

Ashwaganda

Ashwanganda can strengthen the immune system and enhance fertility. It can also fight fatigue, delay aging, and boost libido.

Consider adding some of the herbs to your diet by adding them to meals and teas. You can also consume by pill format along with your vitamins during your winter routine!
