Amber Rich

Amber attended Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. After college, she entered the fitness industry as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer. Amber is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and is Precision Nutrition (PN) certified. She has experience working with fitness goals such as: athletic performance, weight loss, body-life transformation, strength and conditioning, neuromuscular postural alignment, core training, group fitness and nutrition coaching.

 

Andrew Stimson

Andrew Stimson

Andrew is the first person you meet when you decide to work with FDF. In your fitness consultation with him, he will address all your concerns and make sure you have a clear plan for achieving your goals. As part-owner and Vice-President of FDF, Andrew handles sales and account management for the company. He is also in charge of recruiting the most qualified fitness professionals in the city. In his 15 years of experience in the industry, Andrew has led many clients towards better health and an improved quality of life. He believes training is a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual endeavor. He and his wife, Halee, are actively involved in their neighborhood in Northeast Kansas City where they lead a house church and spend time with the youth. They are wonderful parents to their baby girl, Ruby.

Andrew has a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Northwestern College. He is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and a Functional Movement Systems Certified Exercise Professional. His other certifications include Reflexive Performance Reset and Precision Nutrition.

Andy Garner

Andy Garner

Andy, FDF’s Head Trainer, has over a decade of experience in the industry. He is highly skilled at tailoring a program to fit an individual’s needs and his clients love him for it! Over the years, Andy has helped them significantly improve their fitness level and movement quality so they can enjoy their hobbies even more. A lifetime athlete, Andy loves to golf and play other recreational sports. When he isn’t training clients, he’s at home working on remodeling projects. He and his wife Brittney are blessed with a baby boy named William.

Andy has a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Kansas. He is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer, Titleist Performance Institute Level 1 Certified Expert, and a Functional Movement Screen Level 1 Certified Exercise Professional.

Brian Rich

Brian Rich

Before joining FDF, Brian was a social worker for the physically disabled. He was inspired to enter the fitness industry having witnessed clients suffer from amputations due to type-2 diabetes, morbid obesity, and congestive heart failure. “I am driven by a desire to give people the tools necessary to live a long life of enjoyment, as far as it is dependent upon fitness, through being strong and agile.” Brian’s main philosophy is that you must have both strength and mobility for optimal health. In his six years as a personal trainer, he’s helped many clients manage their low back and knee pain. Brian enjoys camping, especially in the Rockies, and loves being a father to his two children. “It has been the greatest joy and blessing in my life to be a part of their lives and to watch them grow into the amazing people that they are becoming.”

Brian is a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, Certified Myoskeletal Alignment Therapist, and Precision Nutrition Certified Nutrition Coach.

Chris Eads

Chris Eads

Chris believes, “You’re entitled to nothing in life. If you want something, earn it.” This is why he works diligently to make sure his personal training clients achieve their goals. Since starting his fitness career in 2016, he has helped people lose weight and resolve a number of physical issues. With his guidance, his clients have increased range of motion in their shoulders, reduced their low back pain, and improved their balance and stability. Chris likes to golf in his free time and he enjoys fishing and hunting as well. He and his wife, Audra, have a dog named Starr.

Chris has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Administration from Missouri Western State College. He is a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certified Nutrition Coach. Chris is also a graduate of the Personal Training Program at Wellspring School of Allied Health.

Courtney Keeshan

Courtney began teaching yoga in 2015, integrating a variety of yoga styles in her classes. Her students are delighted by her calming approach and they feel less intimidated and more relaxed in her presence. They also appreciate her unique playlists and enjoy the wide selection of music she uses in her sessions. Courtney believes yoga is beneficial for everyone; physically, mentally and spiritually. She encourages yogis to make their practice their own and to trust themselves when they’re on their mat. “Release comparisons and expectations for your practice. Let intuition guide and adjust your movement so you can feel and flow more freely.” When she isn’t teaching or studying yoga, Courtney fulfills her passion for animal care. She loves her dog, Buffy, and together they explore the principles of Doga (Yoga with your Dog).

Courtney completed her 200-Hour yoga teacher training from The Yoga School of Therapeutics and is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. She is trained in various yoga styles: Vinyasa, Power, Restorative, and Chair Yoga. Courtney also has certifications in Barre and Reiki.

Dustin Taber

Dustin is one of our most successful and hardworking personal trainers. In his 14 years in the industry, he’s helped his clients get stronger, gain better movement quality, and significantly improve their health. His top tip to clients is to increase their activity level through both formal workouts and overall movement integrated into their daily life. Dustin knows, “Nothing that’s worthwhile is ever easy,” and this is evident in his dedication to making a difference in people’s lives and his continuous efforts to learn and excel. He enjoys getting outdoors whenever he can and spending quality time with his wife Amber and their yellow lab Avery.

Dustin has a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Kansas. He is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Titleist Performance Institute Level 2 Certified Expert, and Functional Movement Systems Level 2 Certified Exercise Professional.

Emily Morris

Emily Morris

In her more than 20 years in the fitness industry, Emily has served countless people through personal training, group classes, and yoga. She has helped them prepare for and recover from surgery, alleviate their back pain, and learn to enjoy physical movement. One will never be bored working with Emily! She makes exercise a lot of fun while building meaningful relationships with her clients and students. “It is in my nature to serve others. It inspires me when they are inspired.” She aims to empower each individual to overcome obstacles and fears so they can live the life they love. When she isn’t working, Emily spends her free time with her husband Ja and daughter Libby.

Emily has a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Missouri State University. She is currently obtaining a graduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Central Missouri. Emily is an American Council on Exercise certified personal trainer and health coach, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America certified group instructor, and a 200-hour level certified yoga teacher.

Jason Christianson

Jason is one of FDF’s most seasoned personal trainers, with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He specializes in youth fitness, cardiac rehabilitation, and sports conditioning. His clients have achieved optimal results from his research-based approach to designing safe and effective programs. They gain more benefits and feel that time goes by faster when they train with him versus when they work out alone. “Doing a little bit of something is better than doing nothing,” advises Jason. He urges his clients to get a minimal amount of activity even on their busiest days. Jason also manages billing and payments for the company’s clients and trainers. His enthusiasm for running has inspired him to complete 5 half marathons. In their free time, Jason and his wife Marina like traveling, going to local sporting events, and trying out new restaurants.

Jason has a Masters in Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and American College of Sports Medicine Health Fitness Specialist.

Josh McEwen

Josh McEwen

Josh specializes in postural alignment, sport-specific training, and exercise therapy. He’s the go-to guy when you need to manage back/knee pain, correct poor movement patterns, and work on strength deficiencies. “Belt buckle up to your sternum, proud chest, head back, and chin tucked,” are his top cues when helping people achieve good posture. His clients succeed because of his ability to design a training protocol specific to their needs. A self-confessed nerd when it comes to getting better at his craft, he enjoys reading books and listening to podcasts about biomechanics, physiology, and training. Josh played baseball and football in college and is still a huge sports fan. When he isn’t working, he’s enjoying life with his wife Katie and their daughter Eliana.

Josh has a Master’s in Applied Health and Sport Science from Northwest Missouri State University and a B.S. in Health and Human Performance from Culver Stockton College. He’s a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Mandy Peck

Mandy Peck

Mandy has been in the fitness industry since 1998. She’s a versatile instructor and teaches various formats such as yoga, mat pilates, spin fusion, and more. Her classes emphasize the importance of core awareness and this is of great benefit to her many students. “Being aware of your core will strengthen everything you do.” As FDF’s Group Fitness Manager, Mandy ensures the high quality of class offerings. Gifted with a beautiful voice, she often sings the national anthem for the Royals, Sporting KC, and KU basketball. Mandy also paints and plays tennis. She and her husband, Andy, have been married for more than 20 years and are loving parents to their sons Matthew, Sammy, and Peyton.

Mandy has a degree from Oral Roberts University. She is an Aerobics and Fitness Association of America certified group instructor with specializations in Spinning, Body Pump, Yoga Fit, Pilates, and Stages Flight (Cycling). Mandy has completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training through Johnny Kest Life Power Yoga and is a Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher.

Maris Aylward

Maris Aylward

Maris has been teaching yoga since 2011. Students find her mindful yoga flow both challenging and relaxing. “My classes provide a space for people to nurture their body, mind, and spirit. Yoga is a beneficial physical activity that also supports your personal growth and emotional wellbeing.” In 2015, she launched Yoga Upload, an online resource with hundreds of free yoga videos and tutorials. Maris is originally from the Philippines where she worked as a professional actress for television, film, and theater. Here in Kansas City, she co-hosted a local TV show for three years. She still works as a commercial and print model on occasion. Maris loves traveling with her husband Dave and their son Kieran.

Maris has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts from the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with the Yoga Alliance and is trained in Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Meditation for Stress Relief. Maris is also FDF’s Social Media Manager.

Matt Maassel

“My primary goal is to help people realize their strength and understand how to build and maintain it.” In his more than 5 years in the industry, Matt has guided many clients in attaining their goals. He has made everyone he works with become demonstrably stronger. As a
personal trainer and nutrition coach, he teaches people how to develop sustainable habits and he offers practical solutions that work. Ask anyone he trains and they will say that Matt is a very attentive and engaging trainer who makes each workout session fun, challenging, and
educational. Matt is also a rock climbing aficionado as well as a talented videographer.

Matt has a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, Fitness, Health and Dietetics from Purdue University. He is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Precision Nutrition Certified Nutrition Coach.

Sam Cunningham

Sam Cunningham

Sam is passionate about helping his personal training clients reach their full potential. He believes that people can be athletic regardless of age and he makes working out enjoyable for everyone he trains. A true athlete, Sam grew up playing competitive junior golf, baseball, and basketball in Olathe, KS. He’s an avid fan of the Royals, Chiefs, and Sporting KC too! Sam has travelled around South America, worked at a summer camp, and even caddied in the 2015 U.S. Amateur. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering at his church’s youth group, playing guitar, and indulging in the occasional bowl of ice cream.

Sam has a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Kansas and is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Stephanie Ball

Stephanie Ball

Stephanie wears many hats at FDF: personal trainer, group instructor, and nutrition coach. Her clients love how she switches things up, making their sessions different each time and challenging them in a good way. For variety, she incorporates Mat Pilates and High Intensity Interval Training techniques into her routines. Stephanie excels at customizing workouts and is attentive to each individual’s needs, injuries, and pain points. She encourages her clients to combine their fitness regimen with healthy eating. “You can’t exercise off a bad diet. 80% of how we look depends on nutrition.” Stephanie’s love for traveling has led her to visit five continents. She and her husband Zach like eating out, going on bike rides, and taking trips together.

Stephanie is a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America Certified Group Fitness Instructor, and Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certified Nutrition Coach. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa.

Seth Bailey

Seth Bailey

Seth always reminds his clients, “If you are working out, give it your all. Don’t give it 50%.” He aims to help people feel better, move better, and possibly get off medications. In his many years in the industry, Seth has worked successfully with clients in managing their back pain. His philosophy involves providing others with the basic knowledge and fundamentals needed to make fitness a part of their everyday life. Seth is very personable and he makes sure everyone he trains has fun during their workouts. Aside from being athletic and playing college baseball, he is also musically inclined and plays the guitar. Seth and his wife, Cara, have two little girls, Emma and Lila.

Seth has a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Evangel University. He is a National Council of Strength and Fitness Certified Personal Trainer and he specializes in weight lifting and sports conditioning.
