Sustainable Lifestyle Change

There is a discipline and determination to building strength that Daniel showed from the beginning of training in January. His goal of building muscle mass and gaining weight was his motivation for working with a personal trainer. Daniel decided to meet for training in the Front Door Fitness office, which was a great option considering location and time for his busy schedule.

In the early stage of training, he quickly learned that improving shoulder and hip mobility would be essential for his success. Within his first eight weeks of training, he gained four pounds and had improved muscle tone overall. He felt stronger, had more energy, and found the variety of workouts to be enjoyable. One of the many milestones that he accomplished through training was that he was able to do pull-ups! He completed five of them for the first time in his life while he was out at a park doing an outdoor workout. He just busted them out like he had done them before! It was a celebratory moment as all the mobility exercises had accumulated to this awesome milestone.

Working our together has helped Daniel to overcome the intimidation of having a plan to reach his desired goals. He also incorporated nutrition coaching during training. By structuring his nutrition, he was able to overcome the afternoon slump that would hit him while in the office. From the recommendation of changing the timing of his carbohydrate intake, he was able to eat a full lunch and not become tired and exhausted by mid-afternoon. The change he was making in his body was being supported by his food choices during his busy workday. He even learned that he actually did like quinoa!

Creating positive lifestyle changes and guiding Daniel along the path of self-discovery into opportunities and choices of health and well-being has empowered him to live differently. He will always remember me as the girl who taught him to do pull-ups!
